The month of May begins today.
Today is called “May Day”. While most think of the name as what you say when a vehicle is going down, May Day has other meanings. Long ago, it was a festive day–especially made famous with the dance around the maypole. Later on, though, it was associated with socialism and communism, especially with the Haymarket affair in Chicaco.
But anyway, happy beginning of May, everyone.
